The remodeling works on Avenida de la Libertad began a few days ago.
The first works are focusing on the median, which will be completed with artificial turf in full, from Avenida de la Asunción to Plaza del Camionero, as well as the median of Sebastian Abarca Street, a pedestrian road linking Libertad with Reyes Católicos.
The avenue will have new landscaped spaces and several playgrounds for children and biosaludables, which will change its current status.
The section on which is going to perform the greatest performance runs between the court building and the Plaza del Camionero Juan Soriano.
The area that is currently unpaved will be reformed, with a compact earth base, where children's games and biosaludable devices will be placed.
The playgrounds for children will have an elastic tile floor for safety against falls and a multicolored protection fence.
Likewise, different traditional enamel-based games will be painted on the pavement, two drinking water sources and two resting areas will be installed.
In addition, the sidewalk will be extended, the interior corridor will be extended and container grouping areas will be created.
The urban furniture will also be renewed with the placement of bins, including children, as well as benches and chairs.
The contractor, responsible for carrying out the works is Natural Engineering, Water and Environment SL for an amount of 263,995 euros.
Almost 100,000 euros invested in previous phases
Avenida de las Libertad has already been subject to improvements recently.
In 2016, all the luminaires were replaced by other LEDs, a bicycle lane was built that crossed it completely, accessibility was improved with the elimination of several architectural barriers and new street furniture was placed with new chairs and colored benches.
All this involved an investment of just over 97,000 euros.
