The Department of Gardens of the City of Jumilla has launched conservation work of a century-old carrasco pine from the Plaza del Rey Don Pedro in which a crack has been detected in its main fork located at 14 meters high.
To ensure its conservation, static wiring will be installed to prevent movement and will serve to reinforce the one already placed four years ago.
Likewise, a reduction of the foliar surface will be done to reduce the load,
"Being a pine that is located next to the children's games of the Plaza del Rey Don Pedro, these should be changed location in order to preserve the safety of those who use them and move through the area," has indicated the councilman of the area, Francisco González.
As long as the games, whose new disposition is not yet decided, are moved, they will be marked and their use will be prohibited.
