On Sunday, July 15, the youth band of the Jumillana Association of Friends of Music composed of more than 55 music students from their school, mostly very young, aged between ten and seventeen, started to the VI Veranos Musicales Villa de Mazarrón.
This young band is directed by D. David Piqueras Gilar, Jumillano trumpeter, trained at the Superior Conservatory of Murcia, and who has done many advanced courses both in their specialty and in direction .. Musician of the Youth Orchestra of the Province of Murcia Alicante, regularly collaborates with other orchestras, such as the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.
The band jumillana surprised the audience with its impeccable interpretation.
The professionalism of these young people, masterfully directed by D. David Piqueras, delighted the large public concentrated in the marina of Puerto de Mazarrón, on a night that began threatening rain, but that led to a gentle breeze, which made the evening more pleasant .
The youth band of the Jumillana Association of Friends of Music began their concert with the pasodoble "Agareno", by the natural composer of Jumilla Julián Santos Carrión, a work that won the first prize of RNE of pasodobles.
He continued with the piece "In a Persian market", by A. W Ketelbey, and finished the first part of the play "Dakota", by the famous contemporary Dutch composer Jacob de Haan, who in five movements portrays the culture and history of the Indians Sioux of the North American States and South Dakota.

Mazarrón City Council presented the visiting music band with a replica of a Phoenician ship, and the obligatory bowtie was placed on its flag, as a souvenir of its participation in the VI edition of Veranos Musicales Villa de Mazarrón 2018.
They resumed the second part with another paso doble of Julián Santos, "Obsession", to continue with "Concerto d'amore" by Jacob de Haan, interesting piece in which there is a combination of three different styles, namely baroque, pop and jazz .
They ended with "The Lion King", the arrangement for Hans Van der Heide's music band composed by Elton John and Hans Zimmer.
Next Sunday, July 22nd, the music band of the "Villa de Fuente Álamo" musical group will offer the second concert of this cycle, at the Puerto de Mazarron sports harbor at nine o'clock at night.
