Citizen collaboration has been requested "to limit the possible sources, since apparently there are two possible sources" |
The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Gil, today offered a press conference to inform of the procedures that are being followed by the City Council to try to solve the bad smells that are suffered in the municipality during some days since about a year ago.
The first local mayor has said that "they do not come from the Municipal Landfill, which is sealed, or from the Water Treatment Plant, there are apparently two possible sources that come from private activities."
Juana Guardiola has highlighted that work is being carried out since June of last year in the matter, carrying out all the necessary administrative and physical actions.
"In fact an inspection was made to a company and it was transferred to the Autonomous Community, which is the one that has the sanctioning authority, although at the moment it has not acted," he said.
For his part, Juan Gil said that "the City is waiting to receive a budget from the only company in the region that conducts studies of odors."
"Every time there is an outbreak, the Seprona, Local Police and Civil Guard are notified, and a fruit and vegetable company has been sanctioned, which provoked an outbreak of odor," added the mayor, who also requested "citizen collaboration to limit the possible provenances "
