Unemployment figures in Jumilla leave good news at the end of last month.
In year-on-year terms, unemployment has declined by 125 people since June 2017 (1,901 unemployed) to June 2018 (1,776 unemployed).
With respect to the previous month, the figure drops by 48 people.
This variation has been very positive for women with a total of 58 fewer unemployed compared to an increase in men with 10 more unemployed.
By academic levels the bulk of unemployment continues to be concentrated in general education levels (primary and secondary), being much less significant in professional education and especially in higher education cycles.
By age we have a youth unemployment that has fallen a lot, from 10.14% to 8.84%.
By economic sectors, the sectors of agriculture, industry and construction decline, although almost repeating data, to the detriment of the services that the decreases of the previous ones increase.
The Councilor for Employment, Juan Gil, has indicated that they are figures that improve previous years, but that "we will continue working applying all the measures that are our hand to continue advancing as we have done in the last months".
