This morning the work of replacement of the palms of the Paseo Lorenzo Guardiola that were affected by the red palm weevil plague and could not be recovered.
There are seven specimens that are being cut and whose waste management is being carried out properly, with the necessary safety treatment before their total destruction.
In the next few days seven new palms of the species phoenix canariensis with a trunk size of 2 to 2.5 meters will be planted.
As noted by the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Francisco Gonzalez, "as reported in the last plenary session, all of them will be replaced before the Fair and Fiestas."
Also, he stressed that the work is being done by INAM company and will not entail any additional cost for the City Council.
