As a symbol of tolerance and equality, for the fourth consecutive year the rainbow flag has been placed on the balcony of the City of Jumilla to commemorate the Day of the LGTBI Pride (lesbians, gays, transsexuals, bisexuals and intersex) that is celebrated today.
Previously, the Councilor for Equality, Salvi Pérez, the government spokesman, Alfonso Pulido, and the spokesperson of the municipal IU-LV group, Ana López, have read a manifesto that reflects their recognition and commitment to this group.
The approved text condemns any aggression against the LGTBI collective and vindicates the need for competencies and means for local corporations to fulfill their role as essential agents in the matter.
In the act they have been present, in addition, components of the collectives Jumilla Understands, Association of Fight by the Equality and the Feminist Platform.
Then, the route 'Jumilla es diversa' has been initiated, in which one has to look for the colors of pride painted in specific places in different neighborhoods: Plaza de la Alcoholera de Menor, Diego Abellán street, Calvario (crossing with Steps Altos), Plaza del Rey don Pedro, Ronda Poniente, San José avenue and Salzillo street. Commemorative bracelets are also distributed with the hashtag #Jumillaesdiversa.
The activities will be completed at 10.00 pm at the Mercado de Abastos, where a Paco Zero monologue has been prepared for those over 18 with free admission.
