It is foreseen that speed reduction bands will be placed and later a bike lane |
The Department of Traffic has begun work to improve safety for vehicles and pedestrians in the Ronda de los Franceses.
The road markings have been painted, for which the signaling machine recently acquired by the City of Jumilla has been used, which reduces time and costs.
Likewise, LED lights have been installed to illuminate the entrances of the roundabouts.
To reinforce the night visibility, reflex reflectors and orange reflectors are being placed on the side lines and vertical signs have been replaced by new reflective ones.
In addition, it is expected that speed reducing belts will be installed at several points.
All these actions are carried out as a preventive safety measure, since it will attract the attention of both drivers and pedestrians.
Yesterday the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Eugenio Aguado, and the Chief Local Police Officer, Antonio Luis Mula, visited the avenue.
"It is planned that this avenue has a bike lane, which would join the Avenida de la Libertad through Salvador Dalí Avenue," said Juana Guardiola.
The Department of Traffic plans to continue now with the repainting of the main roads of the city, adding the missing signage.
