The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the councilman of Gardens, Francisco González, visited this morning Manuel Azaña plaza, whose remodeling work has already been completed.
They have been accompanied by the head of the City Council service, Juan Manuel Pérez, the president of the AAVV of the San Juan neighborhood, Juan José Martínez, as well as several components of it.
With the elimination of the fences, the garden has become an open and much more functional space.
The stone has been removed from the interior roads and a new curb has been placed.
In addition, artificial turf and red marble have been installed and the monument has been rehabilitated and illuminated, as well as the rest of the square.
New bins and banks have also been located to complete the furniture, the latter recycled.
The works have been carried out by the company Ingeniería Natural Agua y Medio Ambiente for an amount of 41,050 euros.
It is the third and last phase of rehabilitation of the square.
In 2016, the playground was reformed, where a grasshopper, a pier and a swing adapted for young children were installed, as well as rubber flooring that made it much safer.
In a first performance a pine that was in poor condition was removed.
The total cost, uniting all actions, is around 60,000 euros.
