Jumilla Mayor Francisco Abellán has released the names of the award winner in their call Hypnos 2009.
Thus, last May 7, once the opening of the proposals and after deliberations, the jury unanimously decided to award the prizes to the Football Club Jumilla, Jumilla as Ambassador Award, the Award Commitment to Culture is for Emiliano Hernández Carrión, Bodegas Hijos de Juan Gil gets the Business Development Award, the Association of Parents of disabled children Jumillano (ASPAJUNIDE) gets the award for the Defence of Human Values, the Award Co-operation with the municipality is to Education Cooperative Cruz de Piedra and the Special Award is awarded to José Martínez Ortuño, president of the Brotherhood of Jesus of Nazareth.
The act of awards will take place June 18 in a ceremony to be held in the castle.
The aim of these awards, as stated by the mayor, "is to encourage and recognize, from the council, the work of numerous individuals and groups in favor of Jumilla.
Francisco Abellán has also stated that "the cost of these awards is minimal, and in this case the City Council has a small party to meet this expenditure."
The jury was composed of Baldomero García, village headman of the farm, Eva Monreal Lencina, professor of English, Pedro Piqueras Palencia, president of the Jumilla Wine Route, Josefa María Tomás Muñoz, headman of The Estacada, Gustavo López González , director of Seven Days Jumilla, Mari Carmen Mari Carmen Alonso Martínez Sánchez and Molina, both of the IES Language Teachers Archbishop Lozano, as jury president Francisco Abellán and with the advice of the Councillor for Culture Juana Guardiola and assisted by the Secretary of the Beatriz corporation Selma Penalva.
