From Friday 7 until May 30, can be seen in the Hermitage of San José, an exhibition of the Association of Painters Mouth and Foot with the world.
This is an activity included in the agenda of the Department of Culture and can be seen from Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, and Sundays and holidays from 11 : 00 to 14:00.
According to reports from this group, "the exhibition presented in Jumilla has pictures of the most renowned artists, members of the Association of Painters Mouth and Foot with the world."
Collect approximately 40 works by international artists from different backgrounds and cultures such as Japan or New Zealand, and the best artists such as Manuel Parra and Christopher M.
Toledo.
These works are of varying themes, styles and techniques, in which is reflected, above all, "the effort and dedication of its authors", as reported by the director of the Association in Spain Ricardo Charfolé, who added that " artists is completely devoted to painting and live it, so that one of our goals is to sell these works, since it is also what the partnership exists. The Association of Mouth and Painters with Pie was created in 1957 when the painter Erich Stegmann and a small group of disabled artists from 8 European countries founded an organization to help each other.
Erich Stegmann, polio victim, was deprived of the use of his hands and built a thriving career as a painter with his mouth in Germany.
The main objective was to commercialize his work playing his original paintings on calendars, greeting cards, pictures and illustrating books.
The result of this initiative became an exclusive worldwide art movement, being present today in 72 countries with nearly 800 artists.
In Spain was founded in 1957 when contacted Stegmann Parra Manuel Rivera, who became the first Spanish artist of the Association.
The headquarters are in Madrid and is responsible for the dissemination and distribution of works of artists across the country.
The aim of the members of the Association is able to live on their effort and their work, through the acceptance and recognition of the quality of their work.
His only source of income is the sale of the products (cards, calendars, prints, books ,...) reproduced from originals painted with the mouth or foot.
Association membership is open to anyone who has lost the use of hands and wants to paint holding the brush with the mouth or foot.
