The Government Delegate and the Mayor of Jumilla inaugurate development works of the Carretera de Santa Ana (25/03/2010)

The Government of Spain invests in Jumilla, through State Funds, 2009 and 2010, 7 million for municipal competition actions

Rafael González Tovar and Francisco Abellán inaugurated this morning the development works of the Carretera de Santa Ana made through the Local Investment Fund.

The work has cost the Government of Spain of 1,550,712 euros and has created 40 jobs.

The work has involved the refurbishment of the Santa Ana Road between the church of San Agustín and the area known as "the Roalico."

This road connects the town of Jumilla in the convent of Santa Ana has been increased road platform, doubling the lanes, 3 feet wide each, and building a berm of 50 cm.

Furthermore, it has installed new street lighting along it.

The delegate recalled that Jumilla has received the EUR 4,353,203 Government of Spain for 8 projects of the Local Investment Fund of 2009 that are generating 145 jobs, of which 124 are newly created and 21 persons within enterprises awarded.

González Tovar has also reported that the new State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability to be invested in 2010, will involve a further economic boost for the city of 2,740,305 euros.

"Overall, has clarified the Government Delegate, Jumilla Spain's government receives more than 7 million euros in two years: the largest investment by any government in Jumilla in such a short time and which clearly reflects the will of the President municipalist Zapatero. "

Current status of state funds in 2009 and 2010 in the Region of Murcia

"In just two years, municipalities in the Region of Murcia will receive from the Government of Spain over 400 million euros to boost the economy, create jobs and improve our towns and cities in a time of economic difficulty in which government public should be an example of effective management, "said González Tovar.

The municipalities in the region had a total of 729 projects to the new Fund, which have been authorized by the Government of Spain, 714, ie 98 per cent.
