The Department of Education took stock of actions carried out during 2009.

Also granted a 1000 euros to AMPA IES Infanta Elena and 400 euros to AMPA School of Music and Conservatory of Music and 3300 euros to the local federation of AMPAS (FAMP).

On 22, 23 and 24 April was held the "Exhibition of Children's Theatre II ', an activity organized by the Department of Education with the collaboration of the Local Federation of AMPAS and schools in Jumilla.

Involving tens of children between 3 and 11 years belonging to the second round of Child and Primary Education for schools across the town, including the College Cañada del Trigo.

The performances took place at the Teatro Vico.

In February, during the carnival parade took place on schools, involving about 2,000 children, accompanied by their teachers, mothers and fathers, all dressed in the most different and original costumes and accompanied by seven brass bands.

On 22 December, the awarding of the Card Contest III 'Dear Kings', organized by the newspaper Seven Days Jumilla in collaboration with the Department of Education, which donated all the prizes in the school category (children 1 to 6 of primary education) and more young people (adolescents 12 to 17 years), giving a total of 21 bonds of various amounts according to the prize money, in exchange for school supplies at any library in our town, spending amounting to 1,320 euros.

To complete their training these young people need an internship in a company for a month, adapting to the conditions and responsibilities of working on it.

To carry out this program the Ministry of Education, Science and Research in the Region of Murcia gave the council with a party of 48,000 euros.

Finally, the People's University, during February to May Fourteen workshops were conducted twelve types: rolls, ceramics, book club, drawing and painting, crafts, patchwork, enhancing memory, workmanship, furniture restoration, macrame tapestries and theater, and nine innings of a dressmaking course, having a total of 275 students.
