Blanco signed the agreement for 1% Cultural replacement cover Vico Theatre in Jumilla (22/12/2009)

Development Minister, José Blanco, and Mayor Francisco Abellán Martinez, signed in Madrid today a collaboration agreement for the 1% Cultural replacement cover Vico Theatre in Jumilla, Murcia.

Under this agreement, the Ministry of Development and the city of Caldas de Reis 710,855.05 euros allocated to this project, of which Development will provide 533,141.29 euros.

The building constructed with an eclectic language, opened in 1883.

Presented for a typical neo-classical theater with a plant in a horseshoe shape.

It highlights the painted ceiling of the main hall were made on canvas with frame bracing, it hangs from the wooden trusses that form the original roof structure on the stalls.

The papers included in this project are mainly focused on the elimination of cracks, deformation, humidity detected, as well as the replacement of unique structural elements, such as the wooden trusses of the main body.

It also includes the restoration of the painted ceiling of the stalls, and proposes the rendering of the facades of the buildings recently added to the original building.

Agreements signed 26 other 1% Cultural

In addition to these partnerships, José Blanco has now signed agreements with 26 other local authorities, Communities and other institutions to implement projects under the funds generated by the 1% Cultural.

In total, these works involve an investment of 24.1 million euros, to be financed by applicants

Speaking after the signing of these agreements, White pointed out that 1% through the Ministry of Cultural Development "is contributing more than ever, rehabilitation and preservation of the property's most significant cultural heritage."

Thus, the minister said that the Government of Spain has in 2009 a total of 67 million euros to this program, the most since its inception and is committed to maintain this investment in 2010.

"This will continue to fund, as at present, projects for the conservation, rehabilitation, restoration and enhancement of the goods that make up our historical and artistic heritage," he noted.

White also stressed that these projects, and to protect and promote the heritage, "a positive impact on economic activity and employment."

Finally, the minister underlined the cooperation of local authorities in promoting these cultural projects.

"Dialogue and cooperation are essential for effective public policies articulate that meet the demands of citizens, and 1% Cultural program is a clear example of this, because it encourages collaboration between central, regional, and local institutions non-profit, achieving a multiplier effect giving aid, "he said.

1% Cultural

Heritage Act 1985 provides that 1% of the total budget for the implementation of public works will fund the work of conservation and enrichment of the Spanish Historical Heritage or promoting creativity.

The performances are held in buildings of cultural interest or similar.

The calculation of this 1% is made on the basis of budget execution of all construction material in excess of 600,000 euros.
