About 60 police fail to control a fire in the place of Celia in which they burned about two acres of scrubland (29/07/2009)

About eleven o'clock there was a fire in the place Jumillano of Celia, 500 meters from the town of Hellin.

About an hour after the fire has been controlled, thanks to the swift and effective action of firefighters, as confirmed by the Civil Protection Councilman Primitivo Gonzalez.

In extinguishing the fire have participated about 60 police in the Autonomous Community of Murcia and Castilla La Mancha, with five helicopters, two planes, more fire stations Jumilla, Yecla and Cieza and forestry checkpoints Jumilla and Hellin Abarán .

In total have burnt about two hectares of scrub and bush.

The wide deployment of human and material resources has been produced to prevent the spread of high temperatures.

According Primitivo Gonzalez said "about noon the fire was controlled, there are no flames and firefighters are cooling the area, however along the day will remain a roadblock to monitor forest area to prevent possible flare-ups ".

On the possible origin of the fire, early indications suggest that it may have been caused or by human negligence, "since the fire started from the roadside, but we must wait for the investigations of the forest" said the councilman.

Primitivo Gonzalez has taken to calling on people to take extra precautions and be careful and respectful with the environment "the mountain is on fire, as the temperatures are very high, so ask not to throw cigarette butts or glass, or containers as they can make thermal effects in the sun and cause a fire, "said Gonzalez.

In the same area have been three fires in the past five years.
