More than a hundred people celebrated the night of San Juan in the Plaza de Santa María (25/06/2009)

More than a hundred people gathered in a unique setting as the Plaza de Santa Maria, to celebrate the Night of San Juan.

It was an activity organized by the Department of Culture to celebrate the coming of summer.

Several actors staged a street theater representation entitled "Night of the Coven '.

In this mixed representation of witches, strange creatures, day, night and spells and rituals of this magical night.

In addition, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a caiman developed for this purpose and carry out rituals like jumping from the fire or burn in the fire, written on a piece of paper, bad omens.

The Night of San Juan, is a day like any other, nature, man and the stars are set to hold a party, full of great power and magic.

It is also the right time to pray for the fruitfulness of the earth and the same men.

The summer solstice celebration, is as old as humanity itself.

At first it was thought that the sun would not return to its full splendor, for after this date, the days were getting shorter.

For this reason, fires and rites of fire of all types are initiated on the eve of summer, to symbolize the power of the sun and help you renew your energy.

Often they danced and jumped around the fire to purify and protect against demonic influences and ensure the rebirth of the sun.
