The OMIC recommends that SMEs employ the power supply with a marketing company before 1 July (23/06/2009)

From 1 July, liberates the electricity trading market and the government set a maximum charge for electricity, called Rate of last resort.

With this liberalization will be a distribution company, which remains Iberdrola, and several marketing companies.

Regarding this issue, Councilwoman Mariana Gómez Consumer and Office responsible for the Municipal Consumer Information Office (OMIC) Antonia González, have appeared at a press conference to inform the public.

Each user must purchase electricity with a retailer, if you can keep up with Iberdrola, its commercial subsidiaries that also have.

The government set a maximum price charged for electricity that will implement the marketing of Ibedrola, which is called rate of last resort, and other trading companies will set their prices equal to or below this maximum, but as of today still do not know these fees.

The first recommendation is launched from the OMIC that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) make the change before July 1, because if not, for they will rise higher.

For SMEs, electricity rates will increase from 3 to 5%, quarterly, rather than for home users, if no contract by July 1 with a retailer different from that of Iberdrola.

"With that in this case, it is recommended that SMEs employ the power to the traders, even without knowing the rates and then make the changes they deem appropriate based on the offers we be doing," said Mariana Gomez and Antonia González.

For his part, as to domestic users of electricity, counsel maintained, for one or two months, the rate of last resort (to apply the trading of Iberdrola) while reported rates for electricity from other marketers.

In the last bill, users received a list of the marketing of this service, they should contact to tell them their rates and offers and among them to choose the most advantageous.

In the case of keeping the rate of last resort of the trading company Iberdrola is not necessary to do any management.

However, for greater assurance, if you receive any calls asking for personal or banking information, the OMIC recommends that the user asks for the phone and contact person and whether the user who made the contact call, ensuring that the company that wants to hire.

From the OMIC also note, for peace of users, "that in no case is made when the change is made, it will cut the electricity supply."

In any case, home users or SMEs who have questions regarding this matter may contact the Consumer Information Office of Jumilla, where they will receive appropriate advice.
