Adopted 2008 Budget settlement with a surplus of over 4 million euros (18/06/2009)

One of the highlights of the last Local Government Board was to approve the 2008 budget settlement, which shows a surplus of over 4 million euros.

These agreements were announced by the Mayor of Jumilla spokesman Francisco Abellán and Jesus Sanchez.

Regarding the budget settlement for 2008, to be presented at the next plenary session, total revenue was EUR 25,371,012, while expenditures amounted to 21,311,184 euros, representing a positive result, or what is the same as a surplus of 4,059,828 euros.

Of net expenditure, almost 50% (9,735,565 euros) was allocated to staff costs, while another 30% (7.018 million euros) was directed to services and expenses of the City Council.

Thus, the remaining 20% is the one devoted to grants, subsidies, real investments, etc.

On these results, Francisco Abellán said "we had doubts because of the crisis, but we managed to get a sell-surplus, which is important."

The mayor also said that "in 2000 we found a relatively weak economy, from 2001 to 2005, the balance of the council was liable and in 2006 the balance was positive and EUR 1,850,000 in 2007 also with 2,167,169 euros, up more than four million for the year 2008. "

The maximum local authority added: "If in 2009 we get the difference between revenues and expenditures is positive, the City of Jumilla overcome the crisis without having a budget deficit and without being in debt."

Finally, Abellán said that "although in 2009 the revenues are falling, we're also contain government expenditure and also alternative income is being made, especially concerning wind and quarrying companies, and government subsidies."

For his part, Jesus Sanchez reported on the interim award in jury, rural electrification Umbrian hamlet of Santa Ana is awarded to the company Alberto Fraile Nicolau, amounting to 51,620 euros.

Have a deadline of one month and affecting a total of 12 beneficiaries.

They also approved the installation of a kiosk ONCE Avenue East, with dimensions similar to those installed locally.

On the other hand, the Local Government Board approved the appointment of members to the Joint Surveillance and Control of a cooperation agreement in cadastral management.

This committee will consist of Juan Marín Pérez as Inspector of Taxes, by Francisco Gutiérrez Lencina as head of the Agriculture, and John Guardiola Verdú as Councillor for Finance.

This collaborative agreement is made between the ministry and the council.

With regard to expenditure proposals, approval was given by a Councillor for Social Policy, the amount of 1,557 euros for the production of information leaflets about the campaign for the summer OMIC.

The Councillor for Citizen Security proposed an expenditure of 9,828 euros to buy the summer clothes of the local police.

The governing body approved the spending of 1,184 euros to improve classroom tables on Free Access to Internet and 800 euros for the costumes of the subsidiary home help service.

3,600 euros will be earmarked to bring electricity to the Municipal Animal Shelter, a link which will take place from the EcoPark.
