The Department of Social Policy presented the Intercultural Week "Enter Culture 2009 ' (11/03/2009)

The councilman of Social Policy of the City of Jumilla Mariana Gómez has submitted Intercultural Week "Enter Culture 2009 'that will develop 20 to March 31 with various activities, among which the second meeting held Intercultural Day March 22 at the Paseo Poet Lorenzo Guardiola.

In "Enter Culture 2009 'has been called a photo contest where you can submit work that shows ways of life of other cultures and positive and unifying aspects of immigration.

The deadline for submission of photos ends on 20 March and are due at the Center for Social Services.

Has established three awards, the first of 300 euros, the second 200 and third worth 100 euros.

The winner will be announced on March 25 and all works will be exhibited in the classroom culture of Caja Murcia until day 31, the hours of 18:30 to 20:30 hours.

On Friday 20 will be performed the play "From north to south."

It's a show that aims to lead both adults and children to a fun adventure through dance, theater and circus.

Uniquely reflects the gestures, behaviors and traditions of various cultures and representing a plural universe of rhythms and "wobble" body.

Will be at 21:00 pm in the Theatre Vico, entry is free and must be collected from Social Services.

On Sunday, March 22 marks the second meeting in the Paseo Intercultural Poet Lorenzo Guardiola, from 11:00 to 20:00.

The event brings together the Association Al-Andalus, Jumilla Red Cross, AICREJUM Association, the Association of Artisans of Jumilla, New Dawn Association, Friendship Association, the Municipal School of Dance, Arab Women's Group and the Association of Malian and supporters of Jumilla.

The meeting will develop many activities, including photographic exhibition 'My Roots', makeup, body, intercultural crafts displays, there will be information stands, writing workshop, food tasting, games in the world, display of dances and rhythms, stories of the world, gymkhana costume parade for children and crafts.

In addition to the 23 to 25 March there will be gatherings in Jumilla Radio magazine about 'positive experiences related to immigration' which will engage members of various associations and groups and talk about their experiences and intercultural harmony.

On Monday 30, in the classroom culture of Caja Murcia, at 20:00, there will be a 'VideoForum' with a screening of the film '14 km 'and finally, on March 31, from 18: 30, we will carry out an activity of 'Storytelling', also in Caja Murcia.

Last year I celebrated the Intercultural Encounter "response and participation was massive, which has encouraged us to continue this activity and expand the program with more events as Jumilla integration," said Mariana Gomez.

At present, according to the latest population census data and as confirmed by the council in Jumilla are about 19 different nationalities.
