In the first quarter of next year 2009 is expected to start operating the Welcome House Immigrant Women in Jumilla.

The house, located on Calle Cabecico 7, is intended primarily to immigrant women with or without dependents and who is in need of accommodation.

It has a capacity for eight.

The Welcome House is a temporary remedy, with a maximum stay of three months extendable.

"At that time not benefit these women will work with them to achieve maximum autonomy and are able to seek permanent accommodation with its own resources and for that we will hire two educators to work this social integration and employment", said Mariana Gomez, councilor of Social Policy.

The house has two floors: the ground floor are two double bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge dining room, toilets, pantry and patio, on the first floor has three bedrooms, laundry and ironing area and living room.

This house was purchased by the city of Jumilla in 2001 through a grant from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.

The building has been rehabilitated and remodeled in phases, with grants of that advice, undertaking work in the years 2205, 2006 and 2007, which has been enacted in the house of necessary living conditions and infrastructure essential to the development of a normal life.

Parallel to the reform, from the Department of Social Policy have been requesting grants from the Autonomous Region for acquiring basic equipment, furniture (beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs, kitchen furniture, among others.) And additional equipment such as appliances , lamps, tableware, linens, silverware, etc.

The way of working from home is governed by the Rules of Operation thereof, adopted unanimously in the heart of the corporation dated September 30, 2008 and published in the BORM on 30 October this year.

Thus, the City Council is expected that this service becomes operational in the first quarter of 2009, once the rules have final approval and make the award of service.
