Thanks to the first investigations of the Police located the suspects fire in Santa Ana (23/09/2008)

As known, the Guardia Civil have arrested four people suspected of Santa Ana fire happened on Tuesday September 16 in which 3.6 hectares of forest burned.

Up to arrest them, Jumilla Local Police has conducted an intense investigation that began moments after the fire originated.

Up to 38 hours were stationed police in front of a vehicle to its owner.

This facilitated the identification of other people who were at the scene.

Were a total of 10 people aged between 12 and 18.

Antonio Luis Mula has described how the operation was performed during which 5 local police patrols and out of the Environment Unit.

At 18:26 hours all the alarms are activated and the local police set up a protocol in which monitors the three entrances to the mountain, road and track settlement Murcia, San Augustine road and road Cieza.

At these points, taking photographs of all vehicles coming down the mountain moments after the fire.

Witnesses are identified and asked to return.

After participating in the work of extinction and once controlled the fire, local police officers, with pictures of cars and details of the witnesses start their search of the vehicles.

At 1:30 in the morning is located a suspicious car and was tracked.

To avoid arousing suspicion, and not to err in the investigation, agents 38 hours remain stationed next to the vehicle until at 18:30 pm on Thursday, the person is intercepted owner of that car.

This person claims to have been voluntary in the scene, but points out, "as the author", as stated by the Chief of Local Police.

The vehicle owner identified the occupants of another vehicle and given names, surname telephone even most of the people that were in place.

Following these actions raises its report and moved to the authorities and the Guardia Civil who is who continued with the investigations.

Pending the conclusion of these investigations by the Guardia Civil and the Judicial Police, it seems that this arson.

As pointed out by the Chief of Local Police, "the maximum penalty that may fall to a minor, an offense, are 4 years of detention, but would be smaller for environmental offenses."

However, if they were adults could meet from 1 to 5 years imprisonment (article 552 and 553 of the Penal Code), in addition to appropriate liabilities.
