The managing director of the Institute of Housing and Lands visit 10 houses of public promotion intended to rent in Jumilla (10/07/2008)

The houses are duplex, newly built, three and four bedrooms, which have a surface area of between 83.50 meters square and the smallest 90 square meters the largest.

The monthly income for housing will be about the smallest of EUR 151.33 and 163.11 for larger Euros.

The works are in the final stages of implementation and the deadline for submission of applications is 15th of July.

Jumilla City Council gave for free the site subject of the action, located on the street pottery and with 776 square meters, in order to build those houses of public promotion.

The investment of the Institute of Housing and Lands in this action amounted to 907,805 euros.

For the award of these, the Decree 54/2002 of 8 February, by regulating the activities of the Institute of Housing and Lands in public housing promotion, identifies the procedures and requirements to carry out the housing allocations promoted by the IVS.

The Regional Housing Commission dated June 17 gave the nod to the proposal the City Council for the lease of housing.

Following the publication of the notice publicizing the opening of the period, the requested documentation to prospective tenants must be presented at the Social Hall of Jumilla.

Once the deadline for submission of applications are being considered, there will be a provisional list, following a period of public exposure and potential claims will be forwarded to the Regional Housing Commission to approve the list of final adjudication.

IVS director referred to the collaboration between regional and municipal administration in order to comply with Article 47 of the Constitution includes the right "to decent housing and adequate" and adds that "the public powers to promote thus the necessary conditions "and set" appropriate standards to implement this law. "

For his part, Jumilla mayor spoke of the upcoming projects of the consistory with the Institute for Housing and Land: The next assignment of 5,000 square meters in the city for the promotion of social housing and the refurbishment of existing homes in the neighborhood of Los Angeles, owned by the IVS, a project that is already working.

Housing development

The Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, through the Housing and Land Institute, has given over the past year and a half out of 74 houses of public promotion in the municipalities of Cieza, Alguazas, Sewer and Ricote, which must add these 10 to be delivered shortly in Jumilla.

Also scheduled to begin new developments in the towns of Mazarrón Moratalla, Caravaca Cartagena and along the year 2008.

In addition, the IVS maintains a subsidy scheme by the municipalities for relocation of families to meet needs of social interest.

This is a program of grants in public advocacy for housing, which is addressed to specific groups of social and family units that can not fulfill the right to housing in normal market conditions.

The budget for these grants in 2007 was 600,225 euros, increased to 909,113 euros in the 2008 budget.
