The City Council will lease 10,000 square meters for the construction of a public school dual-line (08/07/2008)

With unanimity of the three political groups adopted a regular full point on a proposal to the Department of Education and a PP motion to request the Ministry of Education, Science and Research, the construction of a public center of Early Childhood Education Primary and double line.

These proposals also added an amendment "in voce" by the mayor, to ask the Ministry of Education report in October if it is or not and that during the 2008-2009 academic year, say, in writing, within implementation.

Also unanimously approved the transfer of land to locate a new health center in Jumilla in the sector R-6, and another proposal by the mayor to apply for funding to the Autonomous Region for supply drinking water to 276 homes in The Pines , Las Encebras and Roman.

According to Francisco Abellán this important project must have support for both the Segura basin, the Ministry, local government and the Directorate General of Water of the Autonomous Community.

Another issue discussed at the plenary session was one referring to the amendment in the General Municipal Plan of Arrangement (PGMO) to recover the ground lost dotacional that the current exchange of the Civil Guard barracks.

"The land of the present headquarters will become urban land and if we expand the industrial land in the area of the slaughterhouse will not be lost public funding," said the mayor.

This point had the favorable votes of PSOE and IU-LV, and was voted against by the PP, considering that should be "the Interior Ministry which takes the construction of barracks."

In this regard, Francisco Abellán insisted that construction of the Barracks will cost no money to Jumillano. "

Also addressed the IU + LV motion calling for the reform of the Electoral Act.

José Antonio Pérez believes that the electoral law "discriminates against small parties and undermines the democratic system."

After discussion, the motion was rejected because PP PSOE abstained and voted against it.

Popular said through his spokesman Ramiro Garcia in this case, the purpose of the law was to ensure system stability and to be satisfied.

For his part, explained his abstention socialists ensuring that the central government has already pledged to amend the law and create a body to address possible changes.

IU-LV also filed another motion on the construction of a bridge over the ravine which was approved with the votes of this group and the votes of the PP.

The IU-LV spokesman argued the motion highlighting "the need arose for the inhabitants of the garden area across the Rambla after cutting the roads that crossed it."

The PSOE voted against the view that has been agreed with the neighbors to communicate with a service road that meets current regulations.
