The Civil Guard arrested fifteen people in Jumilla for the theft and illegal sale of mobile phones (17/11/2015)

Meritorious clarified 14 crimes of burglary, theft, crime simulation and receiving

Research has recovered 13 terminals, which have been returned to their owners

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has completed the operation 'Neodymium', developed to investigate the theft and illicit subsequent marketing of mobile phones in Jumilla, with the arrest / charging of 15 people, the clarification of 14 crimes against property and against Administration of Justice, and the recovery of 13 stolen terminals, which have been returned to their rightful owners.

Agents specialized in the prevention of public safety, to the increase of crimes in which the goal was the theft of mobile phone handsets, events which had caused some alarm among the residents of Jumilla, began the operation to investigate and clarify the theft with the arrest of the perpetrators and the recovery of the maximum possible number of stolen effects.

After several months of investigation, researchers have now been able to prove that the arrested had unlawfully acquired receptado mobile phone handsets last generation devices came, in full, of theft.

The now operated mobile phones came from crimes such as robberies in inside cars and homes, theft by neglect in the street and even violently taken away.

The perpetrators of these criminal acts, after its commission and in order to obtain the maximum benefit, sold the effects subtracted in this case telephony terminals, different people in the town.

The researchers were able to identify who would be the final recipients of the stolen terminals, which, they acquired on the illicit market and out of control and supervision.

Furthermore parallel investigations lines between fact of receiving and they got to know these previous robberies, culminating in the clarification of a large number of crimes against property such as theft neglect, thefts inside vehicles and housing were developed and including simulations of crime, the latter devised with the intention to collect compensation from insurers simulating being robbed.

So far, the development of the operation has allowed to clarify the Meritorious 14 crimes against property and socio-economic order and against the administration of justice committed in the town throughout the investigation, and recover 13 mobile phones last generation that, after being brought to justice they have been returned to their owners.

The 15 arrested / charged 11 men and 4 women, Spanish, Ecuadorian, Bolivian, Nicaraguan and Moroccan nationalities and ages 14 to enter 47, recovered and proceedings initiated effects have been made available to the Court Instruction No. 2 of Jumilla (Murcia).
