The jumillana alumna of the Conservatory of Music Felicia Gomez won first prize in the "Between strings and brass" (13/05/2015)

Escudero young Felicia Gomez has won the first prize in the category Woodwind at the XVIII edition of the prestigious Regional Contest of Young Performers "between strings and brass" organized by the Youth Council and the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena.

Felicia, born in 1999, native of Ontur, studied first at the Municipal School of Music in Jumilla and later obtained place in the Conservatory of Jumilla, currently taking 3rd for Professional specializing in saxophone.

The students of the Conservatory of Music "Julian Santos" are participating and performing well in different contests for this edition also Felicia Alonso Raquel Thomas, a student of 4th EPM saxophone Puche and Roberto Rubio, a student of 5th EPM percussion.

The closing gala and awards ceremony took place in the Auditorium of El Batel of Cartagena, awards that have been travelers since the winners came from Murcia, Lorca, Jumilla and Sewer.

A year classical music contest ended with a tight result for the quality of the performances of young musicians.

The winners collected their prize in a crowded auditorium audience.

The award was given by the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro Álvarez;

the director general of Cultural Heritage, Maria Comas;

the Councillor for Culture and Education, Rosario Montero;

the director of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, Maria Angeles Garcia Bres;

the Councillor for Youth, Ruth Maria Collado Gonzalez and Jonatan Beneite Rives, director of Music of Murcia.

The finishing touch put the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, closing in the best way possible this gala with a varied program which took place Flamenco.

This edition can be defined as a higher level where it has been and where more people have participated, in total 167 young people from all conservatories in the region, where participating students have demonstrated their dedication and passion, being really complicated the work of the various juries that, given the quality of the musicians, have had to examine even the smallest detail to give judgment.

During the fourth quarter, the winners held promotional concerts accompanied the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
