Jumilla hosts a seminar on the Route of the Iberians landscapes Thad (30/04/2015)

The First Deputy Mayor, Alicia Abellán, inaugurated this morning the Seminary Road Landscape Thader Iberians who had stage today as Jumilla and the Ermita de San José.

This is a Draft intra-regional cooperation promoted by local action groups in the Region of Murcia under the Rural Development Programme 2007- 2013 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water and funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, Ministry Agriculture, Food and Environment and Murcia.

The project has as one of its main objectives the dissemination and enhancement of the Iberian culture in rural areas of the Region of Murcia, through the numerous sites and existing archaeological museums, with the Segura River, called Thad by the Romans as one of the protagonists, generating an innovative cultural tourism proposal.

The Route of the Iberians Landscapes Thader proposed visit to 10 municipalities Archena, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Coy / Lorca, Cieza, Fortuna, Moratalla, Mula, Jumilla and Yecla in Murcia through its Iberian archaeological sites , interpretation centers and associated museums.

In these fundamental archaeological pieces are exposed, what might be called "Iberian treasures" of deposits, which are nestled in landscapes of extraordinary beauty on the banks of the River Segura, Thad called by the Romans, and its tributaries.

Within these tourism products is the one that offers the Altiplano, "Iberians and vineyards".

Jumilla and Yecla, besides being famous for its wines, contain many other riches that are worth knowing, for centuries, these cities were famous for being a crossroads and cultures, so that you can find historical and artistic remains of all Mediterranean civilizations.
