The Directorate General of Environment publishes a Guide Regional Geological Park Carche (16/01/2015)

After the publication of the Geological Guides Regional Park Sierra Espun ~ ay the Regional Park of the Sierra de la Pila, now is the Sierra del Carche which will own publication edited by DG Environment, a journey 64 pages for the uniqueness of this protected from Jumilla from the perspectives of geology, tectonics, geomorphology and hydrogeology space.

In 2002 was approved the Plan of Management of Natural Resources of the Sierra de El Carche, and the following year it was declared Regional Park, for its geological and geomorphological interest.

Now, through this guide, this geological attraction of an educational and entertaining, to the knowledge of nature lovers this privileged enclave of the Altiplano will be explained.

The publication contains photographs, maps and a description of the geological feature of the Sierra del Carche, which are explained in detail, the main elements of the relief, the current look of the place, as a result of the "tectonic stresses" throughout of millions of years and have resulted in the Triassic formations like diapir de la Rosa, where even a private mining salt remains.

Contents of the Guide

The work esta' structured into several sections designed to address issues of Geologi'a, Tecto'nica, Geomorfologi'ae Hidrogeologi'a.

First, after a brief review of the general characteristics of the Park, the regional geological framework in which it is framed is presented.

Subsequently, the stratigraphy of the study area is analyzed and the tectonic forces that have acted for millions of years and that explain the current configuration of the Sierra de El Carche, highlighting its singularity tria'sico diapiro de la Rosa described .

Finally, an interesting geomorphological and hydrogeological study of the Park where the main elements of the relief, aquifers and springs are identified is addressed.
