Aguas de Jumilla begins work on pipe replacement at district and neighborhood San Juan with an investment of 200,000 euros (24/11/2014)

The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, reported this morning the investment program being undertaken by Aguas de Jumilla, whose works were started last week, and will continue progressively until March next year, with a series of actions aimed at removing galvanized iron pipes that remain in the village, under the European mandate, for what it has an investment of around 200,000 euros.

According to the Mayor "in heading investment to be faced in 2014, corresponding to the years 2012, 2013 and 2014, years in which the management company of municipal waters not perform these actions, because priority was" municipalization "the service supply drinking water in the villages of the Farmhouse and the Fuente del Pino, which required a large investment ".

Thus, during the month of November and December and the first half of 2015, the largest volume of work that amount to more than 200,000 euros, which will focus on the areas of the districts, district San Juan and concrete actions will focus in some ways from the downtown area of ​​the municipality

The actions are focused on replacing galvanized iron pipes that remain in certain areas of the city by pipes HDPE, as called for in the Royal Decree 140/2003, so the quality will be improved health of water for human consumption, in addition to optimized channel system, to a greater extent avoiding the risk of leakage.

On the other side stood the mayor, who between 2015 and 2016 "is scheduled to Aguas de Jumilla end with the conversion of iron pipes galvanized in Barrio San Juan, for which there will be an investment of around 100,000 euros, so that in less than three years will be invested 300,000 euros in improving water pipes for human consumption in Jumilla ".

The mayor, accompanied by the Councillor of Agriculture and Water, Francisco Martínez Escandell, and the manager of Aguas de Jumilla, visited the works last week, which have been initiated in the Avenue of Yecla, Alicante Street and Calle Zaragoza, and will continue in the coming months for certain areas of Barrio San Juan.
