Jumilla celebrate the European Day of Wine Tourism, which this year reaches its 6th edition and will take place on Sunday, November 9, with an open house on monuments and sights of the city and its surroundings, such as the Castle and the two Museums, Archaeology and Ethnography.
In addition, the wineries attached to the Jumilla Wine Route, also hold an open house with tours of the facility, for what should arrange an appointment at each of the wineries that visitors wishing to explore views.
The European Network of Wine Cities in 2009 established the European Day of Wine Tourism, which is celebrated every second Sunday of November in the member cities of the network, in order to achieve international wine tourism broadcast simultaneously in all European countries, thus promoting a homogenization of the quality standards of the different routes of European wine.
The initiative aims to position wine tourism as a unique and diverse reality in all member states of the network, and also encourage the consumption of the products of the territories, as arguments to intrinsic quality of life in Europe.
The European Day of Wine Tourism comprises a series of events based on the promotion of the territories of wine each city will organize on its territory and will be promoted together so there will be a stronger level of image and media impact.
In Jumilla celebrating this day coincides with the Gastronomic Wine Route that is developing throughout the month of November thus completing the wine tourism offering the city to this day.
