Jumilla starts vaccination campaign against influenza virus (24/10/2014)

The Ministry of Health and Social Policy initiated the vaccination campaign against influenza virus in the Region of Murcia this week.

Specifically in Jumilla, it is estimated that about 3,000 people over age 60 be vaccinated between November and December in the health center of the town.

Last year in Jumilla, vaccinated more than 2,500 people, representing 50% of the total population at risk.

The Directorate General of Public Health and Drug Addiction through Prevention Service and Health Protection, has acquired for this season, through centralized purchasing, a total of 225,500 flu vaccines worth 937,190 euros, of which it is expected to rise Jumilla about 3,000 doses.

Of the 225,500 doses have been acquired for this season, correspond to 200,000 vaccine Split influenza virus, Vaxigrip, 25,000 to the adjuvanted vaccine, Chiromas (with adyunvante MF59) and 500 the type of vaccine Optaflu reserved for Allergy Egg who are over 18 years old.
