IU-Greens against the free trade agreement between Europe and the United States (10/10/2014)

Before the negotiations between the European Union (EU) and the United States (USA), back to the citizens and political representatives in a broad release agreement trade and investment, IU-Greens decided against this treaty.

Jumilla believe you can have a great impact because they facilitate the entry of California wines in the European market, which compete with Jumillano, plus other products such as almonds.

This would mean American products, with environmental protection legislation much less demanding than the European, compete with products from here without having to meet the same conditions.

They note that this is a danger to the protection of labor, environmental and health rights, putting the commercial interests of investors and international companies to the general interest.

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Treaty (TTIP) aims to facilitate exports, entirely free public services and allow them to be rendered by transnational corporations (TNCs).

Also suggest that the realization of TTIP compromise the ability of the representatives to freely administer their local communities and promote the industry, employment and municipal initiatives.

They explain that in this treatise trade laws on any consideration of social precedence, bypassing existing laws either continental, national, regional or local level.

They have not tried that with this economic and socially beneficial exchanges are respected, but it is based solely on financial speculation and loss control management.

From United Left-Greens believe that public control must be preserved to ensure access to common property and the creation of new public services, as well as to promote local industry and employment.

With this information and having expressed its position, IU-Greens want to know the opinions of other municipal groups and assess whether made a motion to declare the opposite Jumilla TTIP, as they believe that the local economy and in particular the area of agriculture, can be charged in a negative way the approval of this treaty.

IU-Green joins TTIP concentration against scheduled for Saturday at 12 pm in the Plaza de Santo Domingo in Murcia, and invite the public to participate in it in order to give a unanimous answer against this agreement to liberalize trade and investment.
