IU-Greens warning of the problems of the new telecommunications law (08/04/2014)

The United Left-Green Municipal Group shows its rejection of the new telecommunications law recently passed in the House of Representatives by PP, PSOE and CiU.

This bill is awaiting passage by the Senate, but do not expect to suffer significant changes.

United Left Greens argue from this new law allows the condemnation of roofs and terraces for operators that want to install antennas.

They believe that since the Popular Party (and voting for) once again the interests of large corporations are prioritized above those of the public.

This new reform imposed by the popular government, eliminate the powers of local councils and imposes constraints, controls and guardianships to local authorities on what should be the free exercise of their autonomy.

They criticize the "popular" government invade and eliminate municipal powers in urban areas, limiting even further the capacity for action of local councils.

Currently the municipalities have adopted ordinances municipalespara decide which antennas can be installed on its territory, in what places and how these ordinances condiciones.En no measures to protect sensitive sites and special risk such as schools, nursing homes and hospitals.

With the implementation of the new law, these ordinances must be deleted.

They believe that this new law will generate conflicts because telcos can expropriate housing or community owners to install on your roof one or more antennas.

IU-Green qualifies affront to autonomy localesta counterfeiting more powers localesen planning matters as building permits installation and operation activity, and subsequent monitoring exercise activity and the penalties that apply if the breach municipal ordinances.

We do not consider acceptable queel Ministry exercises control and tutelajesobre Councils through mandatory and binding of reports, and even her figure is imposed as a mediator of conflicts between local authority and operators to negotiate solutions to benefit private companies.

IU-Greens announces studying file a motion in the City of Jumilla to show their rejection of the project and ask to change it, because with this law, neither the Council nor the neighbors may oppose the claims of the operators.
