Last Thursday, on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the 35 participants in the course sponsored by the departments of Public Safety and Sports, "Volunteering Deportivo", received hand holder area councilor, Juan Manuel Abellan, and the coordinator of course, Antonio Luis Mula, their diplomas.
According highlighted the Councillor for Sports, Juan Manuel Abellan, this is a luxury for the Department to have citizens as committed as those who have passed the course with which will help to ensure safety in the various sports events since the City are organized, or those in which it collaborates with other associations and sports groups in the locality.
For its part, the course coordinator, Antonio Luis Mula, said that this is a pioneering initiative in Spain, as Jumilla is the first city that has done this type of course, whose training has been undertaken by own Hall.
So far this year, sports volunteers have participated in numerous events such as tests and Festrijump, Triathlon "Ciudad de Jumilla" Cross "City of Wine" or San Antón MTB race among others.
Students / participants received instruction in different subjects such as road safety, law, communication, first aid and train them to work as support staff in sporting events.
