Last week, 22 to October 24, took place in Alcala de Henares women's meeting "Ecomujer" within the territorial project "Rural Women and Environment" in which more than 350 women from different regions.

The Northeast Region of Murcia was present at this conference with the participation of nine associations affiliated to the project, including Jumilla, Country Women Association of Encebras, Cañada del Trigo, Torre del Rico, La AlquerÃa, Source del Pino, and Association of Widows of Jumilla.

Within the program of activities scheduled for this meeting, were explained by representatives of each of the local action groups through plenaries, experiences, activities, courses, workshops, and conferences, conducted in each territory and project influence around Rural Women and the Environment.

Also conducted a presentation by Langreo Alicia Navarro, PhD and Chief Agronomist Sabora, SL entitled "Environmental Experiences related to women".

This meeting led to the interaction among women protagonists ECOMUJER project, which also were scheduled recreational-tourism training activities, such as visiting Loeches New Interpretation Center Baztan or organic orchards Olmeda de las Fuentes and Alcalá de Henares.

Equality Councilwoman Alicia Abellán, highly valued the project which meant that women's associations in the municipality will benefit from several workshops held at their respective headquarters, and where participants learned how recycling techniques or properties of renewable energy and other issues.

The "Ecomujer, Rural Women and Environment", is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment through project grants territorial and transnational cooperation in the framework of the National Rural Network has been in operation since 2011 with Murcia GDR coordination of and participation Campodos five Rural Development Groups: Vega del Segura and Northeast Region of Murcia, Jaen Sierra Magina and countryside of Jerez in Andalusia and ADECHE representation of Campina de Henares (Madrid ), host this meeting.
