The Turkish delegation Sheep and Goat Breeders Jumilla choose to learn more about the goat Murciano-Grenadine (25/10/2013)

Jumilla has today received a delegation of the Turkish associations of breeders of sheep and goats, that these days are visiting from Spain, to exchange information and experiences on the conservation, improvement, sustainable use and development of livestock breeds in both countries.

The Deputy mayor, Alicia Abellán, has been commissioned to receive them in the Plenary Hall of the City of Jumilla, to welcome them to the town where they will spend the whole day visiting various farms, and some of the city's flagship venues such as Castle and the Museum of Ethnography Jerónimo Molina.

Alicia Abellán, thanked them for choosing Jumilla, as representative of goats municipality Murcia-Granada, and invited them to enjoy the virtues of the town, including of course the local wine, one of the emblems of Jumilla.

Then Adolfo Falagán, Chairman of the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Cheese from Murcia, and Jorge Castillo, Executive Secretary ACRIMUR, they explained the development of both organizations, and what are the most valued characteristics of Murcia goat breed- Grenadine, including easy milkability have highlighted, no reproductive seasonality, strong hardiness and ample grazing.

The delegation has been in Spain a week visiting various livestock centers of the country, among those who have made stops in Madrid, where they were welcomed by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Livestock Select, Cordoba and Seville.

In Murcia, visited KPRA exploiting Mula Cooperative Society, to finish in Jumilla in Capriselec herds and Cheese 4 Reales, where return to Turkey.
