The regional government has approved a proposal of the Ministry of Presidency, draft sealing, closure and environmental restoration of the vessels 1, 2 and 3 of treatment facilities and disposal located in the municipality of Jumilla, which will an investment of 2,066,905 euros.
The aim of the project is the redevelopment of the land and the restoration of the cover plant, thus minimizing environmental impact and integrate it into the surroundings.
The work, which has an execution period of 15 months, will be conducted by the company Tragsa.
The aim is to prevent and control potential health risks to people or to the environment, soil and water, which may arise from the actions of disposal of non-hazardous nature.
In particular, the works include earthworks and waste and cover with clay soils and geotextiles, as well as filled with other land and planting native vegetation.
Then proceed to the installation of drainage pipes and chimneys for gas extraction, among other actions.
The project will be financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union by 80 percent and the Community in the remaining 20 percent.
