Conservatories The Municipal Band of the Region of Murcia, is part of Jumilla, performed last Friday night at the Capitol Theatre in Cieza, in what was the eleventh concert since the establishment of this musical group.
The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, and the Councillor for Education and Training in Music, Ramiro Garcia Cerezo, attended the concert, which was also the Minister of Education, Universities and Employment, Pedro Antonio Sánchez López, accompanied by the mayors of Cieza and Caravaca, as well as the heads of the various municipal conservatories that are part of the group.
Under the direction of José Antonio Muñoz, professor at the Conservatory Master Gomez Villa de Cieza, the program included a prelude to the famous zarzuela 'the Rebel', Ruperto Chapi teacher; 'Suite' of the Valencian composer Rafael Talens and Symphony No. 1 ' The Lord of the Rings by Johan de Meij.
Municipal Conservatories band of the Region of Murcia is composed of 70 musicians selected from the students of the five academies of the region.
Jumillana representation was led by Salvador Pérez Sánchez, director of the conservatory of Jumilla and nine selected students, who are studying music at the center of the town.
Conservatory Band was born a decade ago with the aim of promoting local music lessons and join the contents of the same.
