Yesterday we met in the neighboring town of Yecla, the Board of the Regional Development Association Northeast Region of Murcia, and the General Assembly Leader Focus Program.
The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, the Councillor for Economy and Employment, Almudena Martinez and Angel Perez technical area, attended the meeting in which it approved various issues related to European aid.
One of the main points that the Board approved yesterday was the first provisional grant of aid for the "Enhancing the Value Added Agricultural Products".
It also agreed to request the Ministry of Agriculture, the reopening of this call for companies to re-submit investment projects these grants, which still has budget allocation for this purpose.
The measure includes support for micro businesses or private sector for local agricultural products processing and marketing, including handicraft production of quality products.
Moreover, the Board noted the provisional approval of a draft study of biomass in rural areas, of 140,000 euros to develop between 2013 and 2014 which include Jumilla.
According to a study by the Energy Management Agency of the Region of Murcia (Argem), woody debris in that region, or about 540,000 tons of biomass each year, equivalent to saving 180,000 tons of oil.
The biomass study will delve into this issue and develop lines of work in this regard.
Also approved participation in the Cooperation Project Rural Women held in Alcalá de Henares from 22 to 24 October.
The remaining measures are completing records for initial approval to proceed with the requested aid.
