The Region participates in a project with seven countries to encourage dialogue between generations and educate in solidarity (13/10/2013)

The Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment supports the European project 'I teach you, you teach me: life and knowledge sharing', which aims to encourage dialogue between generations and educate young people in solidarity, especially towards the elderly, and coordinates the Secondary School Infanta Elena in Jumilla.

The Director of Human Resources and Quality Education, Joaquin Buendia, met this week with representatives of 20 schools in Slovenia, Turkey, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Hungary and Lithuania, for activities that take place each country in their school during the period of the partnership, which starts now and will end in 2015.

Buendia praised the work of the team of IES Infanta Elena in this Comenius European project that "contributes to improving the quality of education in schools in the region".

The CEO said that participation in these initiatives "not only increases skills in the chosen subject, but also teamwork, planning and use of information technologies and communication. Moreover, it allows the practice of a language abroad ".

During the development of the project, the biggest move them the stories of their lives and, in turn, learn new skills and abilities of the young.

Participating centers will also create groups of volunteers to visit the homes of older people.
