The Civil Guard involved more than 2,300 counterfeit products in Jumilla (18/09/2013)

Those arrested were caught while transporting the goods inside a van

Counterfeit goods seized have reached a value greater than 15,000 euros on the market

The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia has arrested two people suspected of an offense against intellectual property, after being caught in Jumilla with a van loaded with suspected counterfeit products.

2,328 have been seized clothing textile prestigious brands, perfumes and handbags, all supposedly forged.

The performance took place in one of the services of safety prevention established by the Civil Guard in Jumilla, which developed a device identification of vehicles and people and intercepted a van that had a high load inside.

The state of nervousness that had the occupants of the van suggested to the agents about possible illegal activity, so we proceeded to a thorough search of the vehicle.

The inspection found that the van carrying many products of different types, such as clothing, perfumes and bags, various trademarks, all supposedly forged.

The occupants could not prove the lawful origin of the goods, so all effects were seized carrying.

Shortly after the Civil Guard conducted the investigations necessary to determine the effects counterfeit and, after verifying the crime, they proceeded to the arrest and subsequent remand in custody of the two occupants on suspicion of a crime against property Industrial.

The preliminary analysis has allowed agents to determine the value of the items tapped could exceed 15,000 euros on the market.

Detained

The Civil Guard have arrested as suspects of crimes against industrial property, two people identified as:

- Spanish, 31 and a resident of Valencia.

- English, 52, who lives in Valencia.

The two arrested have a history of committing similar crimes.

Seized

The officers intervened 2,328 detainees recognized apparel brands in the textile, perfumes and handbags, all supposedly forged.

The detainees, seized property and proceedings have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 1 Jumilla (Murcia).
