During the 10th and May 11th was held with great success, the activity "Night of the insects", promoted by the Department of Culture.
The activity was developed by entomologists Lenci Francisco Gutiérrez, José Luís Fernando Gutierrez and Albert Lenci Rico, members of the Entomology section of the Museum of Natural Sciences "Jerónimo Molina".
A large and diverse group of over 30 people, comprised of children, accompanied by their parents, high school students, Secondary, of vocational training, college, university, and people generally interested in the environment, enjoyed a night under the stars in Santa Ana la Vieja, where they could observe the assembly of light traps used in the world of entomology to attract numerous insects that are active at night, as well as explanations concerning its biology, taxonomy, and in general to all the questions were made.
The second part of the activity took place on the morning of the 11th, in the laboratory of Entomology of the Museum of Natural Science, where he explained the techniques of preparing and preserving specimens, labeling, data, etc.., Proceeding individually to prepare a specimen of the sampled last night.
