Fecoam calls for more support and "sensitivity" to the agricultural cooperatives and the agricultural sector (10/05/2013)

The Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of the Region of Murcia, Fecoam, was held this afternoon the XXVIII annual general meeting at Bodegas San Isidro in Jumilla.

The event was attended by a broad representation of industry organizations, financial institutions and regional government, with the president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, head.

In his speech, he stressed that we should promote partnership and eliminate red tape and excessive bureaucracy, since there are "many projects stand in the drawers of the ministries" that if the acceleration, could generate much employment.

He has also advocated to facilitate generational change in the country.

"We need to help young people in these first steps are crucial to the development of an operation," he stated, and added that it is necessary to bet financial institutions for the sector.

During the closing ceremony, has distinguished Fecoam José Carrión, former president of Bodegas San Isidro (joined the cooperative in 1978 and president from 2003-2011) and Agricultural Cooperative of the Year, and has given his badge Gomaríz Peter Gold, better known as Perico 'the Colorao', a person who has a long history in defense of the rights of farmers, not for nothing was the founding president of the Union of Farmers and Ranchers (now Coag Murcia) and has held various positions as a Councillor for Agriculture in the City of Molina and president of the Community Irrigation Campotéjar, among others.

Members of the 79 entities that are part of Fecoam represent approximately 33% of the production of the Region of Murcia and the same percentage of companies marketing.
