On May 14 will be held at the Teatro Vico, the European campaign Hearing Care (08/05/2013)

The Councillor for Health, Ana Martinez and Antonio Navarro, coordinator of the activity, have this season where there will be free hearing tests and information tables will be held on the matter.

As reported by the Councillor for Health, Ana Martinez and activity coordinator, Antonio Navarro, next May 14 will be held in the Teatro Vico European campaign Hearing Care throughout the day, thus facilitating maximum assistance of potential users.

Throughout the day there will be different hearing tests and information tables related to hearing, approached from different aspects.

Navarro explained, this European campaign is being conducted hearing health nationally and with it we want to know what's population incidence of hearing in the town, compared with the national and European average.

Nationally there are more than 2,000 children with acoustical problems, 20% of over 18 years and 25 for over 65 reaching 80% in 80 years, a very high incidence it is prevented by this campaign .

During next Tuesday May 14 will be tested to see if there are free or hearing problems among the population of the town.

First will be a test to check the condition of the ear canal with a video camera, checking whether there are anomalies, and then there will be a frequency audiometry to see more hearing problems through four frequencies 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000.

If there is a problem in any of the tests, they refer the patient to their GP with a report, to undergo more sophisticated tests, and determine whether or not an alteration.

Also, that day, through training tables, they will give out grants for people with noise problems, which do not use ignorance, or that they use, not address and resolve the problems.

Also inform them how to use the earphones, such as maintaining hygiene and increase its life.

And will address issues related to occupational risks, as there are special molds for noise, revealing devices Special filter plugs for every kind of work, that protect the ear from noise and allow to continue listening.

Attendees will also learn first-hand, the latest technology in hearing aids, depending on the needs of each person.
