Yesterday marked World Book Day with a public reading of works written by women (24/04/2013)

The Hall of City Hall, housed in the morning yesterday, the public reading of works written by women, thus commemorating the Day of the Book in an organized activity from the departments of Equal Opportunity and Library.

This new activity entitled Authors, put in value, in a different way, the importance of reading and its promotion, winking once again, to equal opportunities through the public reading of works written by women great relevance in literature during different periods of history.

During the same, and along more than two hours, more than fifteen people read excerpts, among others, works by authors like Maria Cruz jumillanas Trigueros and Ana Maria Olivares, who also wanted to be participants in this activity with your reading.

Different Councillors, as the Municipal Socialist Group Spokesperson, Councillor for Culture, Councillor for Education and Equal Opportunities Councillor, also wanted to participate in this event.

Besides the works of local authors, will read excerpts from works by writers such as Jane Austen, Isabel Allende and Elena Poniatowska, Maria Duenas, Lola Lopez Mondejar, Carmen Laforet, Ángeles Caso, who managed, for a few hours, transport attendees other scenarios, experiences and moments such realism that can be achieved only with reading.
