The butterfly collection, donated by Don Francisco Gonzalez, puts our Museum as a national reference (22/04/2013)

The Mayor, Enrique Jimenez, Councillor for Culture, Maria Dolores Fernandez and Francisco Lenci, head of the Museum's entomology thanked for a simple and moving ceremony, Don Francisco González for their generosity in your donation to the museum of 6,000 individuals of butterflies, insects and other arthropods brought worldwide, the Mayor also announced that "after the B of the Plaza of the Constitution will install a monument in honor of the scientist by the name of Francisco González" as well as the establishment of an award for scientific research to its name.
