The exhibition "Butterflies, a gift of nature" opens this Friday at 20 am (16/04/2013)

Ethnographic Museum of Natural Science, will host this magnificent exhibition entitled Butterflies, a gift of nature, which opens Friday at 20 am and will run until next June 2.

In addition, many activities of the cultural agenda of this quarter revolve around entomology, starting with the part of the quarter, the butterfly Madroño.

Following the opening of the exhibition, will pay tribute to Francisco González López, because wanted to make this donation, brought thousands of butterflies from around the world, the City Council, to be exhibited at the Museum of Ethnography and Natural Sciences, getting so the museum is a national benchmark for the relevance and importance of the different species of insect hosts.

During the same, shall sign the official document that will grant the City.

As stated by the Councillor of Culture, Maria Dolores Fernandez, in recognition of Francisco Gonzalez, and his generosity with the City and in particular with the Department of Culture, is also planning a monument in his honor, and the exhibit hall and one research award, bearing his name.

Following the opening of the exhibition, will present the book "Francisco Gonzalez Collection. Volume I: Ocean Butterflies, where you can learn more this insect so peculiar and unique.

In addition to this act, the cultural agenda includes many around entomology, especially butterflies, besides this educational exhibition devoted primarily to giving students better understand the world of insects, which also expose part of the library and other materials donated by Francisco González.

On 10 and 11 May will be a workshop dedicated entomology teaching school to learn the process of catching the bug, until arrival at the museum.

During the night of May 10, will mount a light tower to attract butterflies (phototropism), there will be a census of all the insects that are close, explaining families, how to catch, how to perform the census and the next day will be the work of preparation and their classification, until they go to the museum's collection box.

Also, on May 24, a conference related to a census of butterflies from the Cerro de las Salinas, where he will present the results obtained with this work.
