More than three hundred women gather around Jumilla Environment (17/10/2012)

Jumilla II hosted the conference "Rural Women and Environment".

Yesterday was held in our town, the second day of ECOMUJER Interregional Cooperation Project, attended by over three hundred women from the three Local Action Groups of Murcia, Campoder, La Vega and Northeast.

The cooperation project "Rural Women and Environment", better known under the name ECOMUJER, covers the period from 2010 to 2013, where they must develop a technical part and the actual project implementation.

The composition of the partnership is formed by associations of local action groups, from communities of Murcia, Andalusia and Madrid, as well as women's associations of territories attached to project.

Enrique Jimenez, Mayor of Jumilla and as Secretary of the Association for the Development of the Northeast Regional, was on hand to inaugurate the Conference, welcoming those present.

At the opening of the conference, also attended St. Francis, Manager of the "ADC Northeast", Miguel Buendia, Group Manager "Campoder" and Cristina Lopez, Group Manager "ADRI la Vega".

The Mayor wanted to acknowledge the assistance of Councillor for Equality, Alicia Abellán and ANIDA associations, Stipa, The Guarafía and participation Equality Agent Hall of Jumilla, Paqui Ruiz, who later participate in the presentations programmed as: "Participation of Women in the Environment" and "Environmental Training for Employment. Art, Women and Environment, seen through the eyes of women."

The overall objective of this project is to combine the skills and efforts of the groups involved in the project to advance equality of opportunity, by promoting the involvement of women in environmental maintenance and enhancement of their knowledge about the sustainable use of natural resources.

As happened last year, in Fuente Alamo, yesterday associations focused participants LAGs attached to the project, making it possible the exchange of experiences of each territory, each of the customs, the how women participate in household economy to be consistent with the environment, etc.
