The Governing Board agrees to extend the pedestrian crossing signs Avenue Assumption Catholic Kings Avenue and Calle Doctor Fleming (28/05/2012)

This morning, Marina Garcia, Councilmember Traffic and Mobility, has noticed the different actions that began to take place last week regarding traffic at the intersection: Avenue Yecla - Murcia Avenue with Calle Canovas del Castillo, in the the occurrence of the repainting by staff of the Department of Services, as the paint was badly damaged assuming a traffic hazard.

Shortly they will act in the neighborhoods, as agreed in the Council of neighborhoods and districts, such as the output of Calvary Street to Avenue of Yecla, and in the neighborhood of San Juan, Barrio San Anton and La Estacada, where pedestrian crossings are badly damaged.

Councillor reported that the Governing Board Meeting held today has agreed to remodel the intersection of Avenida de la Asunción, Dr. Fleming, and Catholic Kings Avenue, since it is a very dangerous intersection, at risk of abuse and has also been complaints by the neighbors.

To do this, they will repaint the crosswalks and traffic lights will be placed four to two traffic lights for pedestrians and vehicles, and will remove items that hinder pedestrian access to the street.

This action will be done through an exchange of material available to the City Council and the company responsible for maintenance of municipal traffic light installations, which would have paid only € 97.17, and whose work will be executed by staff of the Department of Services.

This work will take place at the time that the availability of material and human resources necessary to be done in the shortest possible time, avoiding unnecessary inconvenience to neighbors.

Councilman Services, Juan Manuel Abellan, has reported that the proceedings will be carried out by the Services staff without hiring new staff, so that the works will be implemented gradually, periodically throughout the coming months.

The expense will be minimal, given that the City has the necessary paint for repainting.

Both Councilman Councilman Services such as Traffic and Mobility, have influenced these works will be trying to disturb as little as possible to the citizens.
