Municipal Public Library offers access to Jumilla and the Information Society to people with disabilities or those who for various reasons, need an adaptive equipment to access the Internet and all the services offered by eGovernment, as confirmed by the Culture Councillor Joan Guardiola.
Computers are designed for people with special needs, complemented by accessible features that are tailored to each person and break down barriers, so they can surf the Internet freely.
This has been possible thanks to TICKING Adapta Project has been launched by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, through Red.es and the Autonomous Community of Murcia and in collaboration with the City of Jumilla, and co-financed FEDER funds.
This program is part of the Online Technology Training for Citizenship Avanza2 Plan included among the measures of Plan E.
These teams are for all people in need of any adjustment for simple access to computer equipment, seniors, people with sensory disabilities, cognitive or motor or disabled temporarily or permanently.
Allow barrier-free access to information, use other alternative communication systems to speech, writing and allow the broadcast of messages, use the computer independently develop its usability, acquisition of learning and skills development and use the game as a form of learning and fun for everyone.
All this is thanks to the use of switches, touch screens, support systems, alternative keyboards, hands-free drivers, mouse alternative and special software.
The program also includes training activities for library staff in the use of elements and a training channel with phone support and email through the web.
