The Association of Relatives of Alzheimer Miguel Marín Padilla appointed honorary president (05/04/2011)

The Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's and Other Dementias (AFAD) will appoint Miguel Marín Padilla Honorary President of this association, according to reports from the collective.

The event will take place on Saturday April 9 at the Centro Cultural Partner Roque Baños at 13.30 hours.

Since the association are grateful to Dr. Guzman Ortuño, Honorary President of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery, Murcia, "the willingness with which our proposal received and the facilities given to us to make this appointment."

The reasons that led to AFAD Jumilla to appoint Honorary President Marín Padilla are many, but include "the struggle in neuroscience research and therefore the complex workings of the human brain, and principal investigator on projects worldwide."

Miguel Marín Padilla is Professor Emeritus of Pathology and Pediatrics, Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH, USA, and Honorary Academician of the Academy of Medicine of Murcia.

Miguel Marín Padilla was born in Jumilla, studying Medicine in Granada, where he specialized in pediatrics and after serving a short period of time in the Campo de Cartagena, he moved to the United States.

Specializes in Pathology in the United States and soon began his teaching and research in the field of neuroscience, particularly in the developing nervous system.

He has lectured worldwide and belongs to various scientific societies in the United States and Latin America
